New Idea for Summer Reading

You have to read two books at least for Summer Reading but three is just optional! Have fun!!!

A New Summer-

I once wrote a story called Summer Friend which I LOVE! I decided to write a second one called A New Summer--- here's an excerpt:

 “Casey… one more day… you can wait.” He told himself. Casey Marloney’s birthday was June 19^th. He was now fourteen. It was the day after his birthday, June 20^th and he could not wait till the next day. Sure, it was fantastic hanging out with Dan and Marc but all he wanted was to just show his friends his newest buddies, Abben Laster and Augusta Matoran. They had met last summer before the Historical War, which Casey helped win. He wouldn’t have made it through the summer without his underground friends. Every day at three o’clock, Casey would go out to their backyard and hang out with Abben and Augusta, little penny-sized aliens called Bearers. The Bearers once split into two cities: the good city was called Undermask City, who Casey fought for, and the evil city was called Statcherhead City. Of course, Augusta and Abben were from Undermask City. The heart-breaking thing about Bearers is that they migrate and they are only in Asheville North Carolina, were Casey lives, in the summer. The summer before was when Casey met them and his best friends Dan and Marc were traveling and visiting family. This summer, Dan and Marc were still in Asheville… and today, Casey just had to wait one more day to introduce Dan and Marc to Augusta and Abben.

HE COULDN’T WAIT! Right now though, all Casey could do was wait for Dan and Marc to arrive. They were gonna spend the night and camp out in Casey’s backyard so then the next day, they could meet the two aliens. One silver van pulled into the Marloney’s drive way. “YES!” Casey shouted. He opened the door and greeted his friend. “DAN! Are you ready? Are you excited?” Casey asked happily. Dan nodded. Just then a blue Mazda parked in front of the Marloney’s house. Marc jumped out of the Mazda with a backpack on his shoulder. Dan and Marc’s parents drove off after shouting a goodbye.

“Okay, so first, Abben likes cake pops, I introduced them to him last summer after he saved my life… so, we’re gonna make him cake pops. I’m teaching him to write in English because he only knows how to speak English… Mr. Laster, his dad, taught him because Mr. Laster was the first one to come out of the hole and picked up the language from us humans. He tells me the history of Bearers and I've been writing it down. Someday, I’m gonna write it down on the computer and publish it. Cool right?” Casey asked. Dan looked at Marc amused… they totally believed Casey but he sounded so funny when he said it like this. “And we’re also gonna make pizza… Abben loves that and so does Augusta. Augusta’s pretty cool. He said he’d make me another sword and you guys some armor too.” Casey said proudly. 

SORRY IF THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT NEED TO BE EDITED. IT'S COMPLETELY A FIRST DRAFT AND I'M PRETTY GOOD AT GRAMMAR AND SPELLING BUT I SOMETIMES MISS LITTLE MISTAKES.

Bigbycam

My stories

Is anyone interested in my stories?
I'm thinking of posting them on my blog. Would you read them?

I have one really cool one called Indigo Letters about a girl and her friends.
And then I have the sequel to Indigo Letters. It's called Mushing Kid where the girl has an adventure with her sled-dogs.
Then, I'm writing the third one called Several Stories. 

But I'm also writing a really cool one about a girl who's parents are paleontologists. For a month, they've gone away on a "business trip" and they are taking Meghan's dog with them.
Ugh.
Meghan is staying at her Great Uncle Charley's house which is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boring. But when Uncle Charley introduces her to his next-door neighbor, a girl Meghan's age, she is thrilled.
Raina invites Meghan over to a party, where she learns that Raina's brother Ricky has a really bad cancer. In two weeks, Raina's family is going to California where Ricky will get treatment... and Meghan goes with. But she's scared.

And here is a book that I finished reading some time ago. It's called Smile and it's a graphic novel by Raina Telgemeier. First of all, her name ROCKS and the book is AWESOME and the cover is my FAVORITE COLOR----It's an aqua/teal color :).
It's about all the dental drama that a girl named Raina goes through. It based of the author's experiences. Raina is becoming a teen and lots of times... that means BRACES!!!!!
All I can say after I read it is... POOR RAINA!!!!

Umbrella Summer

This is such a great book.

10-Year-Old Annie Richards is very, very, very sad. Her 11-year-old brother, Jared, had just died. Now Annie won't eat hot dogs anymore (you might get food poisoning!!!) and ride down hill on a bike (you could fall and crack your skull open!) and is now convinced that she has Ebola.
Annie Richards is under an Umbrella of Sadness and thinks that she could die any second, yet she is very healthy (that's what her friend Rebecca's dad, who is a doctor, says).
But when an elderly, boring old neighbor moves into the "haunted house" down the street, she thinks that maybe she can close Annie's umbrella.
