Rules

Rules is an EPIC book. Cynthia Lord, the author, has also written Touch Blue. I've been meaning to read that book too. I love this book. Cynthia Lord can write so many feelings in one story:
Catherine wants to be normal. It kinda hard to do that though, with an autistic brother and when your parents only care about him... or that's it seems. When Catherine and her mom take David, her brother, to OT (occupational therapy), he always gets to go to the video store with Catherine's dad afterwards. But when she asks her dad for some alone time just him and her, he says that he doesn't have a lot of time, basically.
With a brother like David, Catherine has to remind him 'rules'. For an example: 'A peach is not a funny looking apple' and 'do not take your pants of in public unless Mom or Dad or the Doctor tell you to'. David likes Catherine and loves to spend time with her. But when Catherine goes to a friend's house and David comes with, she has to remind him to not open their cellar doors. But it's kind of hard to determine what is normal.
